Floating PV Project design

SolarFloat provides support for every phase of your floating PV project. We work in close consultation with our clients to create a solution that meets the specific needs of their project.  We embrace thinking outside of the box to create innovative solutions to meet individual project parameters. Our team create a project-specific installation plan for each project, detailing the most efficient and cost effective installation.

Project installation & operation

The solar process shouldn’t be complicated. By partnering with qualified contractors around Europe, we provide responsive service and high quality installation.

We choose to partner with industry leader SolarEdge, installing an intelligent system with an advanced monitoring platform. This platform enables monitoring at panel-level, both remotely and on site.

When working with SolarEdge inverters, SolarEdge power optimisers maintain a fixed string voltage, allowing installers greater flexibility with longer strings and strings of different lengths in order to design optimal PV systems. Modules positioned at different tilts and orientations cause energy losses when connected in a single string to traditional inverters. With the SolarEdge solution, energy yield from each module is optimised independently, eliminating these energy losses. In addition, every power optimiser is equipped with the SafeDC™ feature, which is designed to automatically reduce modules’ DC voltage to a safe level.

We always choose to install the inverters, the technical heart of the installation, in a shielded area so the system is not disrupted by potentially harsh weather conditions.

Maintenance & monitoring

Our patented system is built using a concrete support structure, creating a low maintenance system with an industry-leading 30 year warranty.

This concrete support structure is walkable, resulting in uniquely low maintenance when compared to floating systems that are constructed using plastic support structures.

Our system has been designed so that all individual components may be replaced quickly and easily. The walkable accessibility of our system enables quick and simple maintenance.

The SolarEdge monitoring platform dashboard shows status updates, alerts and other information transmitted from the site. Users can see the physical layout of the installation as well as detailed charts about system performance, reducing costs by enabling the remote monitoring of operations.
